He knew that Paul and Campion would return to warn Marcus if Paul was informed of an impending attack, then track the two boys to the believer’s hideout. Marcus holds Vrille responsible for this because she was the one who drove the boys to church and told Decima to make it right.
Partly driven by her ingrained bigotry and partly by her strong emotions for Marcus, she does just that and plays a pivotal role in tendril’s apparent destruction. Meanwhile, Campion returns to the camp and informs Mother of what happened. then another confrontation between her and Marcus takes place. While Marcus initially gains the upper hand, Mother eventually wins the fight and takes back the Necromancer’s Eyes, the source of Marcus’ powers.

Raised by Wolves Season 2 Episode 4 Ending: Is Trust Destroyed?
The Trust was created by Campion Sturges, who also transformed Mother into a caregiver android. It was originally designed as a sentient quantum computer that would rule over humanity once the atheists won the religious war. However, they ultimately lost, and he was then tasked with leading the Atheists to Kepler-22b. To this end, the atheists hijacked the Mithraic ship Tarantula. The plan was that the Trust would serve as leader of the colony until a human leader emerged. Made from a substance called “quantum six”, it is meant to be logical and unbiased.
Due to these traits, he deduces that killing Marcus is the best course of action for the colony’s survival, even if he has to sacrifice Campion, Holly, and Paul for it. After regaining her eyes, Mother easily breaks through the defensive barrier Cleaver and his soldiers have erected, disintegrating a number of them. However, she is reluctant to destroy the Trust as they come from the same creator. Despite the threat of imminent destruction, the Trust remains true to its core principles and declines Mother’s offers of compromise. He has no antidote for Paul’s condition and cannot promise that he will never endanger Mother’s children again and help Mother find a cure for Paul because he is designed to be impartial. .
This prompts Mother to reluctantly destroy the Trust’s main processors. He may not have completely destroyed the Trust itself, but the former leader of the Collective has been rendered inoperative.
What killed the crew of the Marine Research Station?
Earlier in the season, the crew of the Marine Research Station were killed after being dragged into the acidic sea by a mysterious creature. It was initially believed that the snake was responsible. But then Mother realized that the acidic sea had the same effect on the snake as it did on humans. In episode 4, we finally learn what or who is responsible for what happened to these unfortunate people. He appears to be an unfocused human like those the early settlers encountered on the other side of the planet in the first season. This one seems to have become immune to damage from the acidic sea.
When Vrille attempts to capture Campion on direct orders from Decima, the creature grabs his leg and attempts to drag him into an acidic sea. Campion intervenes and kills the creature, saving it. He actively chooses to save a synthetic being by taking the life of an organic being.
